Fat (34mm) legs probably help in this, ably assisted by a new forged aluminium crown and drop-outs. We tested the long (465mm) 29er version but there are 425mm and 445mm (that’s axle centre to crown top) options too. All have a 44mm offset and a 250mm steerer to trim.
We generally prefer to see more offset on a 29er fork, but it will still work well on most average-head-angle bikes. Brake mounts are the post type, which are fine for up to 185mm rotors. White Brothers puts the weight of the fork at 871g. However, ours, before its steerer trim, weighed 925g. There are lighter forks around, but our experience is that the lightest rigid carbon forks tend to flutter more on bumpy terrain under braking. The Rock Solid lives
