The Radical isn’t strictly speaking waterproof, but it’s made from Gore-Tex Windstopper, which keeps a lot of rain off and has such good breathability that it’s often a decent trade-off. This is also a very lightweight jacket that packs into its own bag for easy stowage when you warm up. But while we’re not above borrowing heavily from the roadie kit arsenal when it suits us, this is a snug fit too far.

What probably provides sleek style and protection when you’re on the drops tends to shift when you’re moving around all the time, and going for a larger size doesn’t work. It’s a nice jacket and we love this lighter incarnation of Windstopper, but we’ll keep it for the
