A finger squish reveals lots of soft padding and when you sit on it you’re aware that there’s quite a bit of saddle down there – but in a good way. It feels immediately comfortable; supporting and cosseting at the same time, which is surely the goal of all saddles, but one that’s rarely reached.
The Iodine 3 uses 7mm hollow chromoly steel rails, which don’t help with the 283g weight (the top end ‘11’ model is 239g/£117), but that’s missing the point of this saddle. It’s designed to be sat on a long time and after three hours or more you’ll care less a
